How to maximize a $10 Gift Certificate:

Yesterday, I went to World Market because I received a free $10 gift certificate for my birthday. I walked out paying exactly $0. How did I do it? I purchased 4 items that were on sale for 2 for $5.

The challenge with a lot of coupons is most items are priced at $X.99 so you have to buy a filler item to get over the minimum amount. Watch for sales like the one I found to maximize the gift cert. I love when it is 100% off.

Watch your receipts for free stuff

I just filled out a quick survey for La Madeleine and I recieved a free dessert! Woohoo! The info was at the bottom of my receipt. I have seen a few restaurants and businesses do this. Chick Fil A comes to mind.

Hubbel and Hudson: Make your own Trail Mix for $5.99/lb

I went into Hubbel and Hudson yesterday for a couple of specialty items, and I discovered their Make your own trail mix for $5.99/lb. All the ingredients looked quality, and some of the items usually retail for much more than $5.99. It was fun for me to mix and match. I had about a 1/3 of a bag for a 1/3 of a lb at $1.98. I was excited because they had chia seeds. Chia seeds are supposed to be flavorless, high in fiber, and high in omega 3s. This make your own trail mix section is right by the candies. Yum!

:( Target 75% OFF

We finally went to Target on Lake Woodlands today to get Cat Food, and of course we had to look at what was left in the Clearance Toys Aisle. Let's just say not much. I saw a lot of $1.99 Splash Out toys still left, and few sand toys. There were a few Iron Man and some other Movie themed items that didn't look so cool. I can't believe I walked out of Target not buying any toys. I did buy a $0.20 pencil sharpner from the school supply aisle. I also saw that they had 24 packs of Crayola crayons for $0.25 each, which is the same price as Toys R Us.

KRAFT HOMESTYLE DELUXE Macaroni & Cheese Dinner

I finally found KRAFT HOMESTYLE DELUXE Macaroni & Cheese Dinner.

I couldn't find it at either HEB or Randalls. I finally found it today at Target.

Walgreens: Free Bayer AM

It is on sale this week for $1.99 after the $3 Walgreens instant coupon, and there is a $2 Manufacturer's coupon that came in the paper yesterday.

This is the week to buy school supplies.

So, after looking through all of the ads in the Sunday paper, I highly suggest that if you need school supplies to shop the sales now. There are some really good deals out there. You could also use the deals at Walgreens as fillers.

FREE Waterway Square Events

I love the Water Way Fountains. They are beautiful. It is a great spot for kids to play or to walk on a date or to stop and have lunch. It seems like there is always some organized event going on every week. The Trolley is free, and has a stop right in front. There is also a free parking garage across the street from Hubble and Hudson's garage. Here is an updated list of activities from The Woodlands CVB:
