Zoo Boo logo

This Weekend is also Zooboo!

We're inviting all little ghouls and goblins to celebrate Halloween at the Houston Zoo with activities that are fun for the whole family!

We encourage all kids to come dressed in their spookiest, scariest, or prettiest Halloween costume!

Zoo Boo will also once again feature the Fiesta Mart Pumpkin Patch.  Kids can pick out their very own child-sized pumpkin and paint it into a Halloween jack-o-lantern! Overflowing with pumpkins, this is also the perfect spot for photographs.

We are also excited to feature the TXU Energy Monster Mashquerade! This exciting event takes place every Saturday and Sunday of Zoo Boo around the Reflection Pool. You can sing, dance, learn all the moves to "Thriller" and take part in our Costume Parade to show off your Halloween costume!

And what's Halloween without candy?  We'll have "Trunk or Treat" booths sponsored by Fiesta Mart throughout the Zoo, so bring your trick or treat bag and your sweet tooth!

All this plus Halloween-themed Meet the Keeper Talks, the Tatzoo Parlor, the Pirate's Cove, and more!

Want to attend Zoo Boo without the large weekend crowds? We'll have Zoo Boo on Friday, October 28!  Plus, we'll continue the Zoo Boo celebration to Monday, Halloween Day, October 31. Visit the Houston Zoo between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. for your favorite Zoo Boo activities, including the Fiesta Mart Pumpkin Patch, the Monster Mural, the TXU Energy Monster Mashquerade, and, of course, candy!

*Only onsite membership purchases made at the Houston Zoo membership cart or membership window from October 28-30, 2011 are eligible to receive free Texas Renaissance Festival Tickets. Purchases made online, by mail, or by phone are not eligible for this promotion. Individual level memberships receive 2 free festival tickets. All other membership levels receive 4 free festival tickets. Texas Renaissance Festival tickets will be valid on Sundays only through November 27, 2011.  This promotion is not valid with any other offers or discounts. Offer valid while supplies last

Reminder: Free balloon at HEB floral, just by asking

They have the HEB logos on them, and they don't last more than a day, but the kids love 'em!

More HEB insider info:

They also have free lollipops for the kids at the market street pharmacy if they ever need a prescription.

If you are by the bakery and you don't see any cookies out you can ask for one for your little one. They are always generous.

At check out, you can ask for a HEB sticker (they usually put them on big items that don't fit in bags).

Pump It Up: New Pop-In Playtime Hours! M-F 9:30am -5pm

This is historic! Pump it up progessed from open only a couple of mornings a week to mornings and afternoons, and now ALL DAY!

I wonder if it is a coincidence that their new hours are similar to Wonderwild's hours, which happens to be located down the street.

The last few afternoon play times I went to (because I had b1g1 coupons in the Entertainment book, I needed to use up), they were almost empty. Hopefully, this will increase their traffic.

If you share the cost of admission, the coupon makes it $3/person for 5 and under or $4/person for 6 and up.

Reminder: Indian Springs Taste of the Village this Saturday!

We have gone in years past. There was a giant tent set up in the Indian Springs Shopping Center with tons of food. We made the mistake of eating lunch before going. My advice is to go to this FOR lunch. They also had a stage with music and some other entertainment like a wells fargo stage coach that you could climb in. I consider it a worthwhile event to go to. You can be in and out in 30 minutes to an hour.
