Arbor Day 2011: January 29, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Celebrate Arbor Day in Houston and learn all about native trees that are great for the landscape.

Tree seedlings will be available for a small donation and larger native trees and shrubs will be available for sale.

Arboretum staff and volunteers will give tree planting demonstrations and tree tours.

Members of the Woodworkers Club of Houston will be on hand demonstrating their crafts.

Kids' activities will include papermaking, face painting, puzzle hikes, recycled paper hats, leaf rubbings and more.

Arboretum mascot HANC the Owl and other costumed characters will be stopping by.
Admission to Arbor Day Celebration is free; donations are appreciated.

Storytelling: "The Man Who Planted Trees"
11 a.m. & 1 p.m.
