Community Information - Upcoming Environmental Lectures

The Woodlands Township Environmental services department has  two upcoming lectures scheduled.  The first is

Going Green:  What's Green About The Woodlands                 

 Tuesday, March 8 at 7 p.m.
  South County Library, 2101 Lake Robbins Drive 
  Presented by Bob Bruce, Landscape Architect for The Woodlands  Development Company

The Woodlands is known for its leadership in environmentally sustainable lifestyle practices.  Bob Bruce, landscape architect, will talk about how the real world green concepts are an important part of these practices and how all residents can incorporate these into their own residential landscaping.

 

Knock on Wood:  Woodpeckers of Texas

A Walk in The Woods Nature Lecture
Thursday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m.
L.G.I. Lecture Hall at McCullough Jr. High School
3800 S. Panther Creek Drive

From sparrow-sized backyard visitors to reclusive endangered species, woodpeckers fascinate and entertain.  Cliff Shackelford, ornithologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, shares a close-up view of the eight species of woodpeckers that occur in East Texas.
